Dr Sarah McCarthy is a quantum-secure cryptography specialist who advises organisations on navigating the transition to quantum-safe security. She brings deep expertise in translating cutting-edge research into deployable solutions, from local infrastructures to global networks.

Through her position at evolutionQ, Sarah supports the design of next-generation cryptographic architectures for critical infrastructure and emerging technologies. She also maintains an active research role as a Research Associate at the Institute for Quantum Computing (University of Waterloo), where she stays closely engaged with the latest advancements in cryptographic science.

Sarah earned her PhD from Queen’s University Belfast and completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at IQC. She is a frequent speaker at international events—including ETSI QSC, ICMC, and Inside Quantum Technology—known for making complex topics accessible and actionable.

Her technical strengths span global QKD networking, lattice-based cryptography, and secure V2V communications. She was recently recognised as one of the Top 50 Women in Quantum by The Quantum Insider.
